Swing state voters know the drill. Every election cycle, your mailbox fills up and your phone won't stop buzzing — all promising you're finally hearing the truth, right before stretching it past the breaking point.

Here's the thing: most of these claims are checkable in minutes.

Take Rep. Craig Williams' recent newsletter, where he claimed his proposed data center energy legislation was the only bill on the table addressing the issue. One search turns up a separate bill on the same topic that had already passed the PA House with bipartisan support months earlier — one Williams himself voted against. The tools to verify this exist. The information is public record.

But who actually stops to look?

CRITICAL PAINTER’S FOLLY PSA: On Wednesday, August 12, the Chadds Ford Township Board of Supervisors will review — and could act that same night — on an agreement to sell Painter's Folly at public sale. A National Register landmark, purchased by the Township with open space funds meant to protect it, could change hands with the terms of its future still unsettled.

This comes just three weeks after the passing of Helen Murray Sipala, who owned and lovingly restored Painter's Folly for over 40 years and whose friendship with Wyeth made the house a living part of his art. Her legacy — and the house she poured her life into — deserves more than a rushed transaction.

The Township has spent months developing conservation and façade easements meant to protect Painter's Folly no matter who owns it. Those protections are not yet finalized. If the sale moves forward before the easements are locked in, this irreplaceable piece of Chadds Ford's soul could be left unprotected.

Painter’s Folly was recently designated by Preservation Pennsylvania on the PA At Risk list for the threat of public auction.

We cannot let history be sold out from under us.

Data centers have become a hotly debated topic in Pennsylvania as more and more communities fight local plans for these energy-consuming campuses.

Earlier this year, the state House of Representatives passed a bill that would set guardrails on data center development. It’s aimed at protecting communities across the state from the industry’s high energy usage.

While the bill had bipartisan support (and is still awaiting a vote in the Senate), not every Republican thinks these guardrails are necessary.

In a post from June 8th, State Representative Williams solicited details from drivers that had been impacted by the oil and chipping that he had previously approved. The article does not reflect that these complaints were requested. It should.

State Representative Craig Williams is running for reelection in November. This new concern is evidently self serving.

If Mr. Williams was opposed to oil and chipping, he had multiple opportunities to note that in advance of the work start - after all, he is an elected representative. Mr. Williams newsletter states he meets with PennDot regularly, regarding traffic timing and other issues.
He could have addressed his concerns in advance.
He could have worked with PennDot on alternative methods or short term road closures to protect vehicles.
He could have voiced his dissent during budget discussions where this was a line item.
He did none of those things.

Voters must learn to recognize the signs of pandering in politicians and State Representative Williams has provided a great example today.

Hello PA-160th, let's talk about push polling. A push poll is a negative campaigning technique used to influence voters that is disguised as an objective opinion poll.

These are usually sent by text message and one was recently sent to a large batch of phone numbers in the PA-160th.

Voters deserve to be treated with respect and candidates should earn their vote through service, commitment and debate, not lies.

Click through the images in this post to see the types of "questions" that were asked. Remember, this is not a "poll". This is an unethical attempt to erode trust in elections by spreading disinformation.

This campaign tactic to manipulate voters should be illegal.

Don't take my word for it, here is a resolution from the Texas GOP condemning the use of push polling, calling the use of these polls misleading and defamatory.

Read up, get used to the visual cues used to manipulate. There will be more of this in our future. Learn to recognize these lies and call them out immediately - do not allow disinformation to influence the voting booth.

Craig Williams knows there is an election in November.

Voters need to know that he took $15K from Vernon Hill, a close relative of the owner of Retail Sites in 2022.

Why would a banker from NJ give a state house rep from PA $15,000?

If Craig supports Save Ridge, as he claims, he should immediately donate the $15,000 to their organization and explain why he took the money in the first place.

Anything less is pandering for votes while filling his pockets. Talking out both sides of the mouth is so cliche...but here we are🤑

I met with residents from Ridge Road, the Ridings and Smithbridge Estates to discuss our shared opposition to the proposed Shoppes at Concord. I was impressed by the preparation and commitment in their advocacy. They understand the proposal, they understand its potential impact, and I agree with their concerns.

The developer's latest plan appears to add another traffic signal on Route 202 to allow northbound 202 traffic to cross in front of southbound 202 traffic into the proposed, massive shopping center. The proposed light is not even 100 yards from the light at Ridge Road, which will stack up our traffic even worse. I also understand that the developer's traffic study only covered the intersection at Ridge Road and not the intended consequences to the surrounding neighborhoods where traffic will then cut-through.

I am letting PennDOT know of our shared opposition and calling for them to refuse the traffic light and conduct an independent traffic study before any proposal is considered.

To repeat what I have said many, many times: I am opposed to building another massive, redundant, unneeded, unwanted shopping center -- especially on 202 where our traffic is already miserable and especially in our historic district.
