πŸ“Έ 2026 Family Fun Day πŸ“Έ

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday for Family Fun Day!

Despite the heat, we were thrilled to see so many families enjoying the activities, meeting local organizations, exploring emergency vehicles, and making memories together.

This event would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors, vendors, volunteers, community partners, and first responders. Thank you for helping us create such a special day for our community.

We've uploaded close to 100 photos from the event and hope you enjoy looking back on all the fun!

If you captured photos you'd like to share, we'd love to add them to the album! Feel free to send them to us via Facebook Messenger or email them to [email protected].

πŸ“΅ Starting Friday, June 5, warnings become citations.

Pennsylvania's distracted driving law prohibits the use of a hand-held device while driving, including while stopped at a red light or stop sign.

Over the past year, our officers have focused on education and warnings. Beginning June 5, 2026 violations will be subject to enforcement.

No message, notification, or phone call is worth a life.

Beginning June 5, 2026, drivers convicted of using a hand-held device while driving will pay a $50 fine, plus court costs and other fees. This includes when sitting at a red light or stop sign. We do not want to lose any more people to distracted driving. It is 100% preventable!

The members of the Kennett Township Police Department extend our sincere condolences to Officer Yeager's family, friends, and colleagues at Central Berks Regional Police Department.

Today, our department mourns the heartbreaking loss of Officer Kristen Yeager, who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a call for service on May 29, 2026.

Officer Yeager served our community with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication. She answered the call to protect and serve each day, placing the safety of others above her own. Her commitment to her badge, her fellow officers, and the citizens she served will never be forgotten.

We ask that you keep Officer Yeager’s family, friends, and our entire law enforcement family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Officer Yeager. Your watch has ended, but your legacy of service and sacrifice will live on forever. We got it from here.

A big thank you to Jordan Morris from the West Chester branch of ProTeam Tactical Performance for stopping by over the past two days to conduct complementary ergonomics evaluations for personnel from KTPD and Longwood Fire Company.

During the sessions, Jordan shared helpful recommendations focused on improving comfort and reducing strain during long 12-hour shifts β€” including seat positioning, lumbar support, equipment placement, and other setup adjustments tailored to first responders.

We appreciate the time and expertise shared with our officers and firefighters. Small changes can make a big difference over the course of a shift, and we’re grateful for the continued support of our first responder community partners. πŸ’™πŸš”πŸš’
