The Kennett Area Democrats is an organization dedicated to promoting and living the Democratic principles of “Freedom, Fairness and Opportunity”. We represent the nine southeast Pennsylvania municipalities surrounding Kennett Square, PA: the boroughs of Kennett Square and Avondale, and the townships of Kennett, East Marlborough, West Marlborough, New Garden, Newlin, Pennsbury and

Serious 50% tariff war with Canada escalating
• 50% tariffs on 700 US products worth $20 Billion
• Targeting US steel, aluminum, appliances, processed cheese and clams
• Discontinues US products and services
• As the #6 top US debt holder, Canada holds power to damage our economy further

US deficit reaches new high of $40 trillion as interest rates rise
• High yield of US treasury entices buyers of our debt to continue. Creates a cycle of escalation for us to pay it off (like personal high interest credit card debt)
• Other countries holding our debt have power as our debt buyers
• The Trump presidency created the highest deficit of any other president (30% of our country's debt to date is Trump's)
• The deficit now stands at 123% of our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) (the entire country could work 15 months, only paying off the deficit, to close the gap)
