Tonight, members of the Chadwick Fire Department, along with Milledgeville Fire & EMS - Illinois , had the opportunity to participate in a training exercise the UW Health Helicopter crew 🚁

Training opportunities like this are invaluable and help strengthen coordination between emergency responders to better serve our communities when every second counts.

A big THANK YOU to UW Health and everyone involved for making this training possible.

The department will be offering an IDPH-certified EMR Education Course from 6:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, July 15 – September 16, plus three Saturday sessions on August 1, August 29 and September 12 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Chadwick area residents if you are or know someone living in or near Chadwick that is an RN we have a great opportunity for you. There is an opportunity for you to help our community out by becoming an EMT-B. They are looking for interested people to hold a class later this year. The class is only 20 hours and only requirement is you hold a valid RN license.

🚨Do you know what our sirens mean??

As a volunteer department, we use our siren to alert firefighters/emts and inform the community. Here is what the different sirens mean:

📢1. 3 Whistles: Fire or ambulance call

📢2.Short & Steady(30secs): Severe Thunderstorm Warning ⚠️

📢3.Long & Steady(3min):Tornado Warning 🌪

📢4. First Tuesday of the Month=TEST, two different sirens. 1X 15secs and 1X that will sound like it goes up then down twice.

Sirens may vary by department.If you are unsure what a sirens means contact your local department.

Get your teams signed up

ATTENTION GOLFERS (and hackers)!!! The 42nd Annual Wally's Open Celebrity (we still need to find someone famous) Tournament is June 27th at Sandburr Run in Thomson, IL! Tournament is a 9 hole, 4 person team scramble with a lot of fun side games and prizes! Our $1,000 putt challenge is once again sponsored by Milledgeville State Bank! As soon as Scott Foltz gets us the sign up sheets, you can sign up your team at Sandburr or at Wallys PLAYce in Milledgeville. Team cost is $200 per team and includes golf, cart, sandwich and a beverage. Also includes a voucher for an additional 9 holes of golf to be used at anytime! ALL NET PROCEEDS WILL GO TO THE CHADWICK FIRE DEPARTMENT THIS YEAR! We're looking for hole sponsors and help us provide back to the community. So as soon as Scott Foltz gets us the sign up sheets you can get signed up.....who knows...Will you be a lucky winner of the coveted Crumpled Gold Krylon Beer Can Trophy??
