💙 Help Keep the Rec Going! 💙
The Chagrin Valley Rec has been part of our community for generations, and we want to keep it that way! Running a pool takes a lot of helping hands, and we could use a few more people to get involved.
➡️Interested in joining the Rec Board or simply being part of the conversation? We’d love to have you! You don’t have to commit to anything or take on a big role. We’re looking for people who can show up to one meeting a month, share ideas, offer input, or help with even the smallest tasks. Every little bit makes a difference!
📅 Our next meeting is Thursday, October 22, at 6:00 PM at the Rec.
Come listen, learn more about what goes into running the Rec, and see if there’s something you’d like to help with. Attending a meeting doesn’t mean you’re committing to anything — just come be part of the community!
Let’s work together to keep this special place going for generations to come. 💙

We hope to see some new faces!

👏We are so proud to announce Alethea Svette as the FIRST recipient of the Chagrin Valley Recreation Center Lifeguard & Staff Impact Scholarship!
Alethea has been an important part of the Rec family for many years — starting as a lifeguard and taking on roles as a camp counselor, swim coach, head swim coach and manager. Through each of these roles, she has shown incredible leadership, responsibility, compassion and dedication to helping others.
This scholarship recognizes more than accomplishments. It celebrates the impact someone makes on the people and community around them. Alethea has been a mentor to new staff, a trusted teammate and someone who has helped make the Rec a welcoming place for both our staff and families.
This special scholarship was generously donated by Kirk Spresser in honor of Ralph J. Spresser, Glenn Wyville and Tom Mattern — three men who made a lasting impact on Kirk’s life through mentorship, education, service and positive influence.
It is incredibly meaningful that our first recipient, Alethea, carries so many of those same qualities forward.
Congratulations, Alethea! 🎉We are so grateful for all the years, memories and impact you have given to the Rec. We are excited to see all that you accomplish in the years ahead!

A BIG thank you to Outside Design Pools out of Concord, Ohio, for doing such a great job getting our new pool cover on! 👏 And to everyone who donated toward the pool cover and helped make it a reality — we couldn’t have done it without you! 💙
Thank you to Aqua Pools for properly closing the Rec pool quickly and efficiently and helping us officially close out the season!

Thank you to our entire Rec community for your patience and support throughout the season. We appreciate you!
Now we’re counting down to summer 2027! ☀️💦
