Challis station's firefighters hearts and prayers go out the firemen and their families in coeur d'alene!

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is on scene to conduct an origin and cause of the fire, in addition to supporting those affected by this tragedy.

Calling in when you're burning doesn't mean you should be burning certian things. Click the link to know what's legal.

DEQ monitors daily air quality and weather conditions throughout the state to evaluate whether outdoor open burning should be limited to protect public health. Local ordinances may also restrict or prohibit open burning due to air quality or fire safety conditions.

Last weekend we had our firemen's appreciation dinner!
Our officers for 2025 are:
Chief - Johnny Gilbert
Assistant Chief - Cobalt Richardson
1st Captain - Darin Maxwell
2nd Captain/training officer - Josh Griswold
Lieutenant/secretary - Audra Gilbert

Firefighter of the year went to Jahndra Mitzlaff!

We did a couple new awards for fun this year. The first was the Best Picture award and that went to Josh Griswold. The second we titled the Odd Duck award which is given to any fireman that was known for doing something funny or odd throughout the year, This year's Odd Duck went to Breadyn Kallenbach for all the naps he took.

Don't forget to join us tomorrow at 6pm for the annual Christmas tree burning and flag retirement ceremony. Land of the Yankee Fork interpretive center will be providing hot chocolate and marshmallows for roasting!
