President Pomes had the honor of attending several premier SAIL 250 events throughout the weekend, including the Welcome Reception, the Mayoral Welcome, and the Governor's Ball.

These events provided a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with members of our military, visiting dignitaries, and fellow elected officials from across the region and around the world. As we celebrate America's 250th anniversary and the rich maritime history showcased by the Tall Ships, it was a privilege to represent St. Bernard Parish and strengthen the relationships that make our communities and nation stronger.

Thank you to everyone who helped make SAIL 250 an unforgettable celebration of patriotism, service, and international friendship.

St. Bernard Parish Government proudly celebrates the graduation of 8 dedicated recruits from the St. Bernard Fire Department’s in-house academy!

Over the past several weeks, these recruits have trained hard, pushed themselves mentally and physically, and shown an unwavering commitment to serving our community. Their hard work and determination have prepared them to answer the call when our residents need them most.

Please join us in congratulating these graduates as they begin their journey of protecting and serving St. Bernard Parish. We are proud of each and every one of them and thankful for their commitment to public safety. 🇺🇸🔥

What an incredible welcome to St. Bernard Parish today as the USS KEARSARGE (LHD 3) arrived for the Sail 250 New Orleans celebration! 🇺🇸⚓

The Louisiana National Guard delivered a powerful tribute from the Jackson Barracks levee with a ceremonial 21-gun salute, followed by an unforgettable jet flyover. The arrival marks the beginning of an exciting weekend celebrating America’s maritime history and honoring those who serve our country.
