Medicare for Veterans

The Martinsburg Vet Center is hosting a Medicare for Veterans seminar to help Veterans and their families better understand how Medicare works with VA benefits.

Following the recent flooding in Waynesboro, a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) will be available to help individuals and families affected by the flooding connect with assistance, resources, and recovery services.

Join Us Tonight for National Night Out!

The Franklin County Veterans Affairs Office will be attending Waynesboro's 16th Annual National Night out tonight!

If you're a veteran, family member, or simply have questions about VA benefits and services, stop by our table. We'll be available to answer questions, provide information about available resources, and connect veterans with the benefits they've earned.

Veterans: You may be eligible for FREE TSA PreCheck

The TSA and VA have implemented the Veterans Expedited TSA Screening (VETS) Safe Travel Act of 2025, allowing eligible Veterans to receive TSA PreCheck at no cost.

Eligible Veterans must be enrolled in VA Healthcare and require the use of a VA-issued wheelchair or prosthetic limb, or have a service-connected disability of permanent blindness.

Cooling Stations Available for Older Residents in Franklin County

With temperatures and heat indexes expected to reach over 100° this week, Franklin County Senior Centers are opening their doors to provide a safe, cool place for older residents.

Extended hours will be available at the Chambersburg and Greencastle senior centers from 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Other senior centers across the County are also open during regular hours.
