Mission: To provide quality recreation experiences for our community through well organized and diverse programs, a properly maintained park system, and a welcoming and safe Aquatic Center. ion Department is a municipal entity that operates the Recreation Center, the Chambersburg Aquatic Center, Rail Trail, Bike Park, and 17 park areas that include a 2 splash pads, a baseball and softball field, multi-purpose fields, 5 tennis and 4 pickleball courts, 4 full-sized basketball courts and 2 half-sized courts, 4 pavilions, 8 playgrounds, a skate park, and a bandshell; as well as 2 indoor gymnasiums, several meeting rooms and a large banquet facility. Furthermore, the department offers a vast variety of leisure and sports programs, clinics, and leagues throughout the year serving all ages, preschool through seniors, as well as presenting a Summer Concert series for the community.
