On Tuesday, Commissioners Horst and Flannery visited My Neighbor's Bounty in Mercersburg to celebrate the organization's fifth anniversary. The nonprofit provides residents with free, choice-based food, household essentials and support through its weekly grocery store-style food pantry. My Neighbor's Bounty has served thousands in the Tuscarora region and expanded into a new facility in June 2025. In 2022, the Franklin County Commissioners awarded the organization a $40,000 IMPACT! Grant to help reach those in need.
Commissioner Flannery remarked, "I remember attending the initial ribbon cutting for My Neighbor's Bounty five years ago in a small room in the Leidy's Custom Woodworking building. The new location is very impressive! Congratulations to the board of directors and all of the giving volunteers on creating, sustaining and growing such a wonderful resource in our community."
Commissioners Horst and Flannery thank My Neighbor's Bounty board members Devin Rotz, Emily Parsons, Tracy Leidy and Amanda Woodring for the tour as well as Sue Fahnestock from Congressman John Joyce's office for joining in the milestone moment.
