Yesterday, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office was honored to attend the Hero’s Car Show at the Historic Letterkenny Chapel and Veterans & 9/11 Memorial Park.

This event was a great opportunity for our community to come together to honor and recognize the men and women who have served — and continue to serve — our country and our communities, including our veterans, military personnel, first responders, and emergency responders.

Beyond the incredible collection of cars, trucks, Jeeps, and motorcycles, the day was really about people, service, sacrifice, and community.
We are proud to stand alongside our fellow first responders, veterans, military personnel, and the many organizations and citizens who continue to support those who serve.

FREE LICENSE PLATE REPLACEMENT EVENT & CHILD SEAT CHECKS!

Do you have a faded, peeling, damaged, or otherwise unreadable license plate? If so, you may be eligible for a FREE replacement plate! Our team will also be conducting child safety seat checks for anyone who would like to have their child’s car seat checked for proper installation and safety.

Rep. Rich Irvin is hosting license plate replacement events in Huntingdon and Shippensburg to help residents get their damaged or unreadable plates replaced.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand to assist with completing the necessary paperwork for your replacement plate.

The new license plates will be available for pickup at Rep. Irvin’s offices once they have been processed through PennDOT.

We’re proud to partner with Rep. Rich Irvin to provide this convenient service to our community!

Vehicles owners must bring the license plate, current vehicle registration and their unexpired driver's license to the event.

Those who are unable to attend these events and are in need of a replacement license plate can apply for a plate at any time by using PennDOT form MV-46, which can be picked up at my offices. A completed form, signed by a law enforcement officer or certified safety inspector, can then be submitted to our offices for processing.

What a day!

On August 15th, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office was honored to participate in the Make-A-Wish Convoy 2026!

The turnout and community support were absolutely incredible from the event grounds to the entire convoy route. Seeing our community come together to support such an amazing cause is truly something special.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is always honored to serve, support, and be there for OUR community in any way we can. We are grateful for every person who came out, supported the convoy, and helped make the day such a success!

And a huge shoutout to Bridget, Bri, and the entire Pepsi family for their generous donation of goods to our office. Your kindness and support are greatly appreciated!

We had an AMAZING time yesterday at Rita’s for their annual Cone with Cops event! You guys showed up and absolutely rocked it!

It’s always a great time getting out, meeting members of our community, and enjoying some ice cream together. Thank you to everyone who came out and continues to show their support for our office and our local law enforcement community!

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office had the opportunity to participate in National Night Out events across Franklin County. Our deputies enjoyed spending the evening with members of the Chambersburg, Greencastle, Waynesboro, and Washington Township communities.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support this great event and help strengthen the partnership between law enforcement and the communities we proudly serve. We hope everyone had a fun, safe, and memorable evening—and, of course, K9 Moose had a great time enjoying some ice cream!

We appreciate everyone who stopped by to say hello, ask questions, and spend time with us. We look forward to seeing you at future community events!

Today, August 4, 2026, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office proudly recognized several important milestones within our agency by swearing in new personnel and celebrating well-earned promotions.

Congratulations to Deputy Sheriff Luke Brown, who has been promoted to Field Operations Corporal.

Congratulations to Steven Moreland, who was officially sworn in as a Field Deputy Sheriff.

Congratulations to Gage Yeager, who was promoted from the Security Division to Judicial Deputy Sheriff.

We are also excited to welcome Angela Zamora as the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office’s new Office Manager.

Please join us in congratulating each of them as they begin these new roles in service to Franklin County. We wish them continued success and thank them for their dedication and commitment to our community.

Beware of another scam targeting Franklin County residents

Franklin County President Judge Shawn Meyers is advising the public to stay vigilant against a recently reported scam involving the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas.

The scam involves text messages that “spoof” or mimic the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas.

In the text, the recipient is advised they are being charged with ‘Failure to Comply with S*x Offender Registration Requirements.’ The spoof alleges that an arrest warrant has been issued and bail set for $12,000 to be paid through e-bonds digital bonding or bitcoin. Following receipt of the text, potential victims receive a phone call with instructions on how and where to remit payment to clear the charge.

The public is reminded that the Franklin County Courts or any Pennsylvania Court will never place calls or send letters and text messages soliciting payment by credit card, gift card, or any other means of electronic funds transfer for any reason.

Should you receive a letter from an individual claiming to be involved with or calling from the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas requesting money or payment of fines, fees or court costs, please do not provide any sensitive information or forms of payment of any kind.

Anyone receiving texts of this nature is encouraged to hang up immediately and contact state and/or local police as well as the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Bureau of Consumer Protection at (800) 441-2555 or [email protected].

During the week of July 20, 2026, Deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office apprehended 12 individuals on outstanding warrants throughout Franklin County.

These apprehensions were the result of ongoing warrant investigations, citizen tips, and coordinated enforcement efforts by Sheriff's Office personnel.

While serving these warrants, Deputies also identified additional criminal activity. As a result, multiple new criminal charges were filed against several of the individuals taken into custody.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office remains committed to locating and apprehending individuals with outstanding warrants while working to keep our communities safe. Warrant enforcement remains a priority, and Deputies will continue working with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to locate and arrest wanted individuals.

FCSO K9 Handler Chief Deputy Daniel Foy recently completed the intensive U.S. Secret Service Canine Paramedicine Program at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, Maryland alongside K9 Moose.

This demanding three-day course prepares K9 handlers to provide immediate, life-saving medical care to their canine partners during medical emergencies. Training included advanced trauma care, airway management, hemorrhage control, wound treatment, and emergency medical decision-making under stress.

The course also included physically demanding exercises, including running in full tactical gear and realistic Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) scenarios designed to simulate high-risk law enforcement operations.

Upon successful completion, the U.S. Secret Service equipped each K9 team with a state-of-the-art canine medical bag and Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK), ensuring handlers have the equipment needed to provide critical care in the field.

More than 300 local, state, federal, and Department of Defense K9 teams have completed this specialized training. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to investing in advanced training that enhances the safety of both our deputies and K9 partners.
