Vincent de Paul Georgia, we’re neighbors helping neighbors through life’s toughest moments. Every year, nearly 300,000 Georgians turn to us for help with food, clothing, housing, healthcare, and emergency support. We meet people where they are—personal, compassionate care that makes a real difference. Our network of 3,200+ Vincentians members across 74 local chapters, supported by staff and thousa

nds of volunteers at our Chamblee Support Center, brings hope and stability to communities across the state. We’re one of Georgia’s largest and most trusted social service organizations, and we’re proud to be part of a global network of 800,000 Vincentians in nearly 150 countries, all working to build stronger, resilient communities. Whether you want to volunteer, partner, or donate, there’s a place for you to help. Together, we can make a real impact—one neighbor, one act of care at a time.

🏡 How do we build communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive?

Join us at ULI Atlanta's Real Estate & Equity Opportunity Conference, a one-day gathering of developers, policymakers, investors, and community leaders focused on creating more equitable access to housing, opportunity, and economic mobility.

Our very own Director of Housing, Mariel Risner Sivley, will be moderating a panel discussion exploring the impact and future of Atlanta's National Center for Civil and Human Rights.

🏬 The conference will feature conversations on affordable housing, equitable redevelopment, community-centered growth, and the leaders helping shape a more inclusive future for Atlanta and beyond.

🎟️ Don't miss out! Limited tickets remain.

We’re proud to celebrate our Director of Housing Initiatives for being honored at the HouseATL Affordable Housing Awards Luncheon with a Housing Policy Advocate Award. 🌟

This recognition reflects years of dedication to advancing policies that help neighbors across Georgia access safe, stable, and affordable housing.

📣 At a time when more families are struggling with rising housing costs and instability, advocacy like this matters deeply. Mariel’s work continues to help amplify the voices and realities of the neighbors we serve every day.

We are incredibly grateful to have her as part of the SVdP leadership team. 👏 Congratulations, Mariel!

Coming home after incarceration is only the beginning. For many returning neighbors, finding stability can feel almost impossible.

Without support, many men returning home face barriers to housing, work, healthcare, community, and healthy routines, increasing the risk of falling back into cycles of instability or re-incarceration.

That’s why SVdP’s IMMERSION re-entry ministry matters.

Our St. Louise de Marillac Conference in Dallas, GA is preparing to launch this ministry to walk alongside recently paroled men across central and north Georgia during one of the most critical periods of re-entry. Through mentorship, phone calls, encouragement, and face-to-face support, Vincentians will help neighbors work toward stability and a fresh start.

This work is rooted in relationship, dignity, and the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to begin again.

Volunteers are currently needed to provide phone-based and face-to-face support, especially during the first 90 days after release, when encouragement, accountability, and human connection can make a meaningful difference.

Congratulations to Brian Goldstone on being awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his powerful work highlighting the rise of working homelessness across our country.

We were honored to welcome Brian as our keynote speaker at Morning of Hope, where his words reflected so much of what we see every day here in Georgia—families working hard, yet still struggling to find stable housing.

This national recognition affirms a reality we encounter every day: more families are working, but still unable to access a place to call home.

As this conversation continues to grow, we’re reminded that behind every headline is a family—and that change happens one neighbor at a time.

There are so many reasons to volunteer with SVdP. 🙏

When we asked our high school volunteers at Blessed Trinity why they volunteer, this is what they had to say.

"If you just have two hours of free time you can make a huge difference in someone else's life," said Cassidy.

This summer, spend your free time serving others. 💙 Whether you have two hours or two weeks, together we have the power to change the lives of our neighbors facing hunger, housing instability, health challenges and so much more.

That shirt hanging in the back of your closet could do more than you think. 👕

When you donate gently used clothing and household items to SVdP Thrift Stores, the proceeds help support neighbors across Georgia facing rising costs and growing uncertainty.

🍎 A donated jacket could help put food on a family’s table.
🏡 A box of household items could help keep someone housed.
🩺 A thrift store purchase could help a neighbor fill a prescription they otherwise couldn’t afford.

Small acts of generosity can go a long way. We invite you to donate what you no longer need and encourage your friends, family, and community to do the same. 💙

Together, we can continue bringing Help and Hope to our neighbors across Georgia.

Across Georgia, more neighbors are reaching out for help with food, housing, healthcare, and other basic needs.

Even with thousands of Vincentians serving in communities across the state, the need continues to grow, and there is still room for more hearts to serve. 🙏

If you’ve been looking for a meaningful way to get involved, we invite you to join us for an upcoming Ozanam Orientation. During these gatherings, new and longtime Vincentians come together to learn more about the mission of St. Vincent de Paul and what it means to serve neighbors with compassion, dignity, and care.

This is a chance to put your faith into action while becoming part of a community committed to walking alongside neighbors in need. 👫

This year, thousands of Georgians spoke up for neighbors facing housing instability and homelessness and those voices mattered. ❤️

Because advocates like you across our community took action:
🏨 Efforts that could have further destabilized families living in extended-stay motels did not pass
🏡 Proposals that threatened affordable housing development in Georgia were stopped
🪖 New investments supporting housing stability and veterans facing homelessness moved forward

But the work is not over. ⚖️ HB 295, a bill that could further criminalize homelessness, has now passed and awaits Governor Kemp’s decision.

We believe every neighbor deserves dignity, stability, and compassion, especially during difficult seasons of life.

Thank you for continuing to stand with families and individuals across Georgia and for using your voice to advocate for policies rooted in hope and humanity.

Take action and urge Governor Kemp to veto HB 295: 🔗 https://ssvpusa.org/take-action

Quality healthcare should never be a privilege.

🚑 Through the HEALing Community Health Mobile Unit, neighbors visiting SVdP can access healthcare, screenings, and support at a place that feels welcoming and familiar.

The mobile unit was created after Dr. Mario Colella saw too many patients reaching care only after it was too late, especially in medically underserved communities. Instead of waiting for people to overcome barriers to care on their own, HEALing chose to meet neighbors where they are.

Now, that care is showing up right here at SVdP. 💙

The HEALing mobile unit is onsite at our Chamblee Service Center every third Thursday, offering care to neighbors who may not otherwise have access to the support they need. 🩺 Our Benefits Navigator is also onsite to help connect neighbors with additional resources that can bring greater stability and support to daily life.

Vincentians and friends, we encourage you to help spread the word in your parishes and communities so more neighbors know care is available. Healing often begins with simply knowing where to turn.
