Our Story

We are a local group of Civil War enthusiasts whose passion for history keeps alive the round table tradition which started and grew across the country in the mid-20th century. We’re based in Champaign County, but draw members from as far away as Decatur, Kankakee & Effingham. Our monthly meetings include refreshments, a trivia contest, book drawings & guest speakers. Visitors are always welcome at no charge. $30 annual membership helps compensate guest speakers’ attendance and fund charitable causes like the Civil War Trust.

Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month (September thru April at 7 pm) in a first-floor meeting room at the Champaign Public Library (200 W. Green St.). In May, the group meets off-site for a special end-of-the-season field trip or banquet on a date to be determined every year.
