Healthy Champaign County is comprised of individuals, community organizations, and university departments working to promote healthy eating and active living in our community. Healthy Champaign County, is a collection of individuals, community organizations and university departments from Champaign County who work together to increase active living, access to healthy food, shared family meals, and

safe routes to school and work in our communities. HCC Mission:
To provide opportunities for sustainable changes in promoting healthy eating and active living in Champaign County. HCC (formerly C-U Fit Families) was formed by Illinois Public Media (WILL radio.tv.online), the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District, and the University of Illinois Family Resiliency Center in July, 2008.

This family-friendly outdoor trail features colorful, interactive signs in English and Spanish that encourage children and families to learn through play. Along the way, families can enjoy simple activities that build language, literacy, and social-emotional skills while staying active outdoors.

Food bought with SNAP, State Food, or Summer EBT benefits may be replaced if destroyed in a disaster. A disaster is a fire, flood, tornado, or other devastating event beyond ones control.

As temperatures rise, knowing where to stay cool is important. 🌞❄️

A list of cooling centers and shelters throughout Champaign-Urbana is available for anyone needing relief from the heat. Locations include libraries, community centers, malls, park district facilities, and other public spaces with air conditioning available during operating hours.

Please share this information with friends, family, neighbors, and anyone who may need a safe place to cool down during hot weather.
