Shout out to Tolono Public Library for helping our volunteer readers grow their impact. We now have an entire bookshelf stocked with books just for them. This gives each volunteer reader the chance to personally choose a book and take it home to practice before reading to a group. It also removes the worry about books getting lost or damaged, making it easier to focus on building confidence.

We were proud to join Illinois Association of Rehabilitation Facilities and partners from across Illinois at Advocacy Day! It was a great opportunity to stand up for critical services and supports for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. We were especially grateful for the chance to meet with State Senator Chapin Rose and share the impact of our work.

We extend our sincere thanks to the volunteers from Broeren Russo Builders for their hard work and generosity. Their time and effort spent weeding and clearing leaves and pine needles at our Clark Road location made a big difference in keeping our grounds clean, safe, and welcoming. We are grateful for their willingness to roll up their sleeves and support DSC, and we truly appreciate their commitment to giving back to our community.

We were delighted to welcome friend and fellow artist Jill Quisenberry, who stopped by to create beautiful garden stones. It was a joy to see creativity in action while enjoying the shared space at The Crow at 110. There was vibrant, welcoming energy and we celebrated the artistic connections that continue to grow there.

We had a great time visiting Hope Lives Rescue Ranch, where we helped groom the donkeys and took them for a walk. We especially enjoyed spending time with a donkey named Black Jack. It was a fun and meaningful day connecting with animals.
