I met with the Community Health Workers (CHWs) we serve in mid-March. My colleague, Dr. Andrade shared a talk on nutrition for immunity. Currently, they serve 100 families, each with one, or more HIV/AIDS+ members.

Today is the international day for the eradication of poverty. If you can, please support programs at WWA, or another charitable organization that you trust. Working together we make a big difference in restoring human dignity - both ours and the people we help. This year we're continuing to buy health insurance for the profoundly vulnerable people we serve. This costs about $10/person per year (I KNOW!) Asante Sana, thank you - to you and the community health workers in Kawangware who emailed pages of pictures depicting brand new National Health Insurance Cards. Each photocopied card represents a receipt, from them to you. Every card promises improved health for a profoundly vulnerable family. YOU enabled their dream to do this. International Women's Day? One day? WWA is inspired by the amazing leaders we partner with, who are overwhelmingly women. Our 4 partner leaders assist over 5,000 children directly. This includes 4,000 vulnerable families, orphans and mentally/physically handicapped children. We are in awe of the women and men who have dedicated themselves - every day - to create great change for others. What you did in 2016 - YOU helped people find hope through better health and security. Thank you for enabling WWA to purchase health insurance and create economic opportunity for HIV headed households in the slum of Kawangware Kenya and for the handicapped children of Inshuti Zaca Rwanda and for the women and children of Those Committed to Change in Butare, Rwanda.
