Our Getting Started in : The EI Process page is now available in SIX languages - English, Spanish, Polish, Russian, Swahili, and French.

Anyone can refer a child to early intervention—parents, physicians, other health care providers, child care providers, social service agencies, early learning programs, etc. Once a referral is made, it is up to the family to decide whether they want to participate. Los niños aprenden mejor juegando. El Buffet de Juego, adaptada con permiso de Terri Mussato de Fruitful Play Developmental Therapy Services, es una manera de pensar en darle a su hijo diferentes juegos, como si fuera un buffet de comida.

Cada tipo de juego ayuda a que su hijo aprenda cosas nuevas. Los juegos apoyan el desarrollo en estas áreas: Pensamiento/Motricidad Fina, Lenguaje/Comunicación, Sensorial, Motricidad Gruesa y Social/Emocional. Si su hijo juega un poco de cada área durante la semana, estará creciendo de una manera más completa.

Children learn best through play. The Play Buffet, adapted with permission from Terri Mussato of Fruitful Play Developmental Therapy Services, is a way to think about offering your child a variety of play experiences — just like choosing from different foods at a buffet.

Each type of play supports different areas of development. These include Cognitive/Fine Motor, Language/Communication, Sensory, Gross Motor, and Social/Emotional. By making sure that your child “samples” from each area throughout the week, you are helping them grow in well-rounded ways.
