Today, the Paxton Police Department mourns the loss of Lynn Ann Ingold (July 14, 1950 – April 9, 2026).

For those who may not know, Lynn was married to Paxton Mayor William “Bill” Ingold for the past 55 years. Lynn was a true friend to our department and a strong supporter of law enforcement. She was an awesome person whose kindness and spirit touched many.

Today, our officers, City of Paxton employees, the Ford County Sheriff’s Office, family, and community members came together to honor her life. 🕊️

We extend our deepest condolences to Mayor Ingold and the Ingold family.

Rest easy, Lynn. 💙🚓

Today was truly a great day!

We had the honor of presenting Champaign County Sheriff's Office Corrections Officer Thomas Starkey with the FOP Lifesaver Award in recognition of outstanding service while saving an inmate from harming himself.

Attorney Stephen Kelly from Stephen Kelly Law was also recognized with a plaque as a small token of our appreciation for his continued support and commitment to law enforcement in our community.

To top it off, the Legion of St. Michael Illinois-Central LEMC generously presented a check to support the Taylor Briggs Scholarship Fund.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to celebrate these individuals and organizations who make such a meaningful impact every day.

We were honored to host a pre-party for the Night to Shine sponcered by The Tim Tebow Foundation event! Our lodge leaders were proud to welcome these well-dressed guests who truly shined! ✨

Big thanks to The Stefanie Pratt Team Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group for sponsoring this and the Rockin Express for getting everyone there safely and in style. This was our third-year hosting, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Peoria County Sheriff’s Office

We are releasing the name of the deputy who was shot multiple times during a traffic stop on January 31, 2026.

Deputy Jack Evans, 24, was sworn in with the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office on January 3, 2023. Deputy Evans has served with professionalism, dedication, and a strong commitment to public safety since the day he took his oath. He has already earned numerous awards in his time here at PCSO.

Deputy Evans remains under medical care but is in good spirits and has a long road to recovery. Deputy Evans sustained gunshot wounds to both of his legs and his torso. We ask the community to keep Deputy Evans, his loved ones, and all first responders involved in their thoughts.

The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Peoria Police Department. Additional information will be released as it becomes available and as the investigation allows.
