Each day, thousands of our mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters are being struck down by sudden cardiac arrest. Improving survival from cardiac arrest is not complicated, but it is not easy. The very nature of cardiac arrest requires bystanders to be ready, willing, and able to act. Additionally, to be successful their actions in combination with care provided by our EMS, fire and first responder agencies must occur within a system that coordinates and integrates each facet of care into a choreographed group effort, focusing on neurologically intact survival to discharge from the hospital.

Organized community programs such as HEARTSafe that prepare the lay public to provide bystander CPR and rapid defibrillation offer the best opportunity for successful resuscitation in the initial minutes after cardiac arrest.

Our HEARTSafe Community program is designed to create communities of heroes and survivors, find out how - http://ow.ly/rMHn50ymVzc

Thank you Applewood Pointe for hosting us and your support of HeartSafe, we had a great time getting to know you!

October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month

More than 350,000 deaths occur each year as a result of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). In fact, SCA claims one life every two minutes, taking more lives each year than breast cancer, lung cancer, or AIDS. To decrease the death toll from SCA, it is important to understand what SCA is, what warning signs are, and how to respond and prevent SCA from occurring. More than 65% of Americans not only underestimate the seriousness of SCA, but also believe SCA is a type of heart attack. But they are not the same thing.
Time-to-treatment is critical when considering the chance of survival for an SCA victim. Ninety-five percent of those who experience SCA die because they do not receive life-saving defibrillation within four to six minutes, before brain and permanent death start to occur.

Join us for one of our free training's so you are able to take action if you are ever in a situation involving a SCA ❤️
