This is a must read regarding Chandler proposition 410 and Term Limits.

I am voting NO on Prop 410 in Chandler - let me tell you why:

So many people have approached me and are confused about the impact of Prop 410.
And I understand why, because the signs, website, and op-eds are intentionally misleading.

Earlier this year, my opponent publicly stated he did not want any charter changes on the November ballot. However, when it came to light that a Council term and Mayoral term were in fact the same, meaning he could not run for Mayor becuase he was term limited, he quickly changed his tune to ensure he can run for office - again.

In short: a YES vote allows someone to serve a total of 16 years consecutively on council between mayor and council member. A NO vote means they can serve a total of 8 years which is the current interpretation of the current charter. I will be voting NO.

I believe keeping the current 8 years matches up with other Arizona term limits, like Governor, AG, State Legislature, etc.

My opponent wants you to vote yes. He sent Prop 410 to the voters so he can maintain power in Chandler as Mayor. If Prop 410 fails, he cannot run, so I understand why he is working overtime to support it. I have a history of supporting term limits. I have been publicly in favor of Congressional term limits and I voted against extending council term limits in Chandler in 2014.

You should vote truly what you feel is right. Yes if you want people in office for 16 years or NO if you feel 8 years is sufficient. Vote your conscious - - but I will continue to oppose Prop 410.

On behalf of Arizona, why don't you demand that Democratic Sens. Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego stop playing politics and deliver for Arizonans and the American people by voting YES on the continuing resolution to keep government open!?
