Sergeant Esparza and Officer Artmanni had the opportunity to visit St. Thomas Aquinas School this week in support of their Anti-Bullying Week. This year’s theme — Love, Friendship, and Kindness — highlights the importance of treating one another with respect and compassion.

Our officers were proud to engage with students, share positive messages, and strengthen community partnerships.

Yesterday, we had the honor of recognizing the extraordinary service of our officers at the Monterey Park Police Department Award Ceremony.

Several officers were presented with the Life Saving Award, Medal of Merit, and the Medal of Honor—recognitions reserved for acts of courage, professionalism, and selfless dedication to others. These awards reflect moments where our officers went above and beyond, placing the safety and lives of others before their own.

We are incredibly proud of their bravery, quick thinking, and unwavering commitment to our community. Thank you for exemplifying what it truly means to serve with honor. 💙🚔

Today marks the third anniversary of the tragic shooting at the dance studio that forever changed our Monterey Park community.

We pause to remember and honor the lives that were lost, to stand with the survivors, and to hold the families and loved ones impacted by this tragedy in our hearts. The pain of that night continues to be felt, but so does the strength, resilience, and unity of our community.

In the years since, Monterey Park has come together in remembrance and healing, showing compassion and support for one another during difficult moments. We remain committed to serving our community, honoring those affected, and ensuring that the lives lost are never forgotten.

The Monterey Park PD Explorer Program offers unique experiences for students with an interest in the field of law enforcement.

Our Explorers are training for the 2026 Chandler Tactical Competition where they will compete against dozens of other Explorer Posts in categories like basic pistol and rifle marksmanship. Our cadre of Fi****ms Instructors and Explorer Advisors took the Explorers to the range to teach them not just how to be accurate, but most importantly... safe operation of a firearm. 🔫💪🏽
