STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN MENARD...SANGAMON...
SOUTHEASTERN CASS AND EASTERN MORGAN COUNTIES THROUGH 145 PM CDT...

At 1258 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Chandlerville to near Alexander to
Woodson. Movement was east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Springfield, Jacksonville, Petersburg, Athens, Chatham, Alexander, Auburn, Sherman, New Berlin, Ashland, Waverly, Divernon, Pleasant
Plains, Loami, Franklin, Murrayville, Woodson, Tallula, Illinois State Fairgrounds, and Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport.

Those attending the Illinois State Fair are in the path of these storms and should prepare for IMMINENT DANGEROUS WEATHER CONDITIONS.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 55 between mile markers 79 and 106. Interstate 72 between mile markers 66 and 104.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information

* At 343 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Lewistown to near Rushville, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Severe thunderstorms will be near... Lewistown, St. David, and Browning around 350 AM CDT. Havana and Bath around 355 AM CDT.

Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include Chandlerville, Manito, Kilbourne, Easton, Green Valley and Mason
City.

* WHERE...Portions of central and west central Illinois.

* WHEN...From noon today to 9 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Heat index readings of 105 to 110 degrees or higher are expected today and Monday, though the potential for storms on Monday introduces some uncertainty in this outlook. Heat-related illnesses can come on quickly in such conditions, and any outdoor activities should be avoided or confined to early morning or the evening.

Good morning and Happy 250th Birthday America! How did we grow from just a few colonies into the greatest nation on Earth? There are many other democratic nations, but ours stands far above the rest. The foundation of American freedom is built primarily on three cornerstone documents that are often referred to as the Charters of Freedom. The Declaration of Independence in 1776 established the philosophy of inherent rights, The U.S. Constitution is 1787 gave us a structure of limited government, and The Bill of Right in 1791 gave us explicit legal protections that secure the rights of citizens today.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
