T-24 Hours Until We Officially Open! ☀️

As a big THANK YOU to our guests coming out early opening weekend we are giving away these clear reusable beach bags to the first 25 families at admissions on both Saturday May 30 and Sunday May 31!*

A few reminders for pool season -
🗓️ We are open 7 days a week for Day Time Public Swim from 12-5PM
🌙 Evening Swim is available Monday through Thursday 6:30-8:30PM
🛟 No flotation devices are allowed inside of Tomahawk Aquatic Center other than US Coast Guard approved puddle jumpers
🥪 No coolers, outside food, or drinks (other than water) are allowed inside. We encourage guests to take advantage of the concession stand or pack a picnic in the car to enjoy outside of the pool in the park!
📏 Guests must be 48in or taller to ride the big blue and green slides
👙 All guests entering the pool must be in swim wear, no steet clothes or shoes allowed in the water.

Watch our team train a scenario with the Channahon Fire Protection District! 🛟

We hope to never experience it, but knowing how to work side-by-side with our local first responders is a skill that can save lives. Thank you to our awesome first responders who came out today to practice responses with us, answer questions, and help support the young adults who keep the pool safe! Today is one of three hands on trainings our lifeguards will do with the Fire Department this season.

These Swim-Stars are ready for the first session of swim lessons to start next week - are you? ⭐️🏊‍♀️

The Channahon Park District teaches swim lessons based on the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Curriculum. Weekday Swim Lessons meet for 40 minutes Monday-Thursday for 2 weeks consecutively or for 40 minutes every Saturday for 8 weeks.

Our favorite Channahon Park District Special Recreation Adaptive Swim lessons (and all swim lessons) start right after we open next week - are you registered? 🏊‍♀️

Tomahawk Aquatic Center opens next week which means our Adaptive Swim Lessons are almost back! 🏊‍♀️

Adaptive swim lessons are for participants with documented special needs or disabilities. Participants will be placed with an instructor, depending on needs, either individually or in a small group. A variety of swimming skills will be worked on such as going underwater, supported and unsupported floating, kicking, and exhaling underwater. Adaptive lessons are not taught to a lesson curriculum, but rather participant need.

There are just a few spots left and sessions start June 6, so get registered now!

Do you have a pr***en at home who loves the water and is interested in maybe being a lifeguard one day? Our Lifeguard for a Day program is back with two new dates for 2026! 🛟

Sign up to get a firsthand view of the training that lifeguards go through! Try the swimming requirements, climb into a guard chair, jump in for a save, learn the basics of using rescue equipment and more! This is not a lifeguard certification class, but a firsthand exploration of some of the aspects of lifeguarding!

New This Season: A New Picnic Shade Structure! ☀️

Coming to visit us this season and planning to pack a picnic? We’ve got a new shade structure out front of the facility for families to bring their outside food and drinks to enjoy! Due to safety, we do not allow any outside food, drinks, or coolers inside the facility, but you’re welcome to bring it and picnic throughout the park - including this new shade structure with new 4 tables!

Registration is Officially Open for Swim Lessons for Summer 2026! 🏊‍♀️

Tomahawk Aquatic Center teaches swim lessons based on the
American Red Cross Learn to Swim Curriculum. Starting from introduction to the water at just 6 months all the way up to butterfly stroke, flip turns, and surface dives!

Swim lessons are NEVER canceled. Water Safety Lessons will
be taught inside Arrowhead Community Center the event of
inclement weather.
