HomeAid National Capital Region

HomeAid National Capital Region HomeAid’s mission is to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education.

HomeAid National Capital Region's goal is to be a major resource for nonprofit organizations that serve individuals and families experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. HomeAid helps people gain stability by connecting area builders who donate their labor, time, materials, and expertise to organizations that need assistance maintaining aging facilities or building new facilities. Our

construction projects also serve nonprofits working with people who have experienced domestic violence; people with disabilities; those suffering from chronic physical or mental health issues; and homeless children and teens.

Today, HomeAid National Capital Region, Builder Captain and 11 trade partners gathered to celebrate the renovation of three 1,100-square-foot townhome units that serve as transitional housing for Family Shelter Services (FSS). The interior renovations, valued at over $150,000, create safe, functional, and dignified living environments for single mothers and their children as they work toward long-term stability.

Each unit – all of which are part of 22 former military housing units–received comprehensive upgrades, including flooring and full interior repainting. The team updated kitchens with new cabinetry, countertops, and appliances to ensure durability and ease of maintenance, while bathrooms were reconfigured to improve usability and maximize space, creating layouts that better serve the needs of families. To improve reliability, long-term performance, and security, the HVAC systems, hot water heaters, and bathtubs were inspected and updated as needed, ensuring that all three townhomes provide stable, well-maintained housing that reflects a commitment to both practical support and human dignity.

Thank you to first time Builder Captain CaseCo. and the following trade partners for transforming three homes – and three families’ lives.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Builders for Babies Champions!

These generous companies and individuals have stepped up in a big way by purchasing entire pallets of diapers and wipes through online donations. To put that impact into perspective, a single pallet costs approximately $2,000 and provides more than 10,000 diapers, depending on size. That means every pallet helps ensure thousands of children in our community have access to one of life's most basic necessities.

This type of support is doing more than providing diapers and wipes—it is giving families hope, dignity, and reassurance during challenging times.

If you don't see your company on the Champions list yet, there's still time. Online donations will be accepted through Father's Day, June 21. By becoming a Builders for Babies Champion, you are sending a powerful message to the families our nonprofit partners serve: you matter, you are supported, and your children deserve a healthy start in life.

Together, we can make a meaningful difference for thousands of parents and children throughout our community.

When you make an online donation to Builders for Babies, your contribution goes towards purchasing diapers wholesale through our trusted distributor, JSL Partners. Buying wholesale allows us to stretch every dollar and maximize the number of diapers we can provide to our nonprofit partners and the families they serve.

To put the impact into perspective, just one pallet costs approximately $2,000 and provides more than 10,000 diapers, depending on the sizes. That means your support goes a long way in helping thousands of children in our community.

We have already received diaper requests from more than 50 nonprofit partners, the highest number in the history of the program. The demand continues to grow, and we still have a long way to go before reaching our goal of a million diapers and wipes.

Purchasing wholesale ensures your online donation has the greatest possible impact and helps us serve more families in need.

Please consider supporting the Builders for Babies program and help us make a meaningful difference in our community. https://wl.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=homeaidnova&id=88

We were proud to partner with Keller Williams Realty, LLC for their annual day of giving back. Each year, agents, leaders, and associates step away from their daily business responsibilities to serve their communities through acts of renewal, service, and generosity.

More than 50 volunteers arrived bright and early at House of Mercy VA, a nonprofit in Manassas dedicated to feeding and clothing those in need. Throughout the day, volunteers rolled up their sleeves to pick up trash, wash food delivery vehicles, sort food donations, clean and tag items in the thrift shop, and sort and organize dishes. Their hard work and dedication helped support House of Mercy’s mission and made a meaningful impact on the community. Thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time and energy to make the day such a success. https://www.flickr.com/photos/homeaidncr/albums/72177720333663598/with/55269940826
