📚🐾 Welcome Back, Poplar Tree! 🐾📚

What a wonderful first day of school! Our Panthers are back in the building, ready for a year of learning, growing, and showing their PRIDE! ❤️🖤

This year, we’re challenging every Panther to show their Poplar Tree PRIDE by being:

🌟 P — Prepared: I am ready to learn and work.
💗 R — Respectful: I treat others with kindness.
💪 I — Independent: I take charge of my actions.
🏆 D — Determined: I don’t give up when things get hard.
🤝 E — Empathetic: I understand how others are feeling.

From meeting new teachers and reconnecting with friends to learning new routines and exploring new classrooms, today was just the beginning of an amazing year ahead.

Our school sunflowers are officially taller than the windows! Thanks to Ms. Walter for all the hard work on our outdoor gardens!🌻☀️

Just like these blooms, we know our students are doing some serious growing this summer. We can’t wait to see those taller, smiling faces back in the hallways soon! Hope everyone is having a safe and happy summer! 🐾❤️

On the last day of school we were able to celebrate our staff who have hit milestones in their years with FCPS! From 5 years to 30 years...we're so grateful for all the amazing people who work at Poplar Tree!

We were also able to say goodbye to those who will be leaving Poplar Tree next year. We will miss you all so much and wish everyone the best of luck in their next endeavors!

🌟Lisa Melchiori, Kindergarten teacher, retiring from FCPS.

🐾 Cassie Wilbur, Kindergarten IA, resigned from FCPS and looking for a position closer to home.

🐾 Courtney Menter, Special Education, resigned from FCPS and took a Reading Specialist position in Prince William County.

🐾 Amy Weinberg, Special Education, transferring to Navy ES.

🐾 Caroline Bucaro, Special Education, resigned from FCPS and took a Special Education position in Richmond, VA.

🐾 Estephany Fenstermacher, Spanish teacher, resigned from FCPS and attending grad school.

🐾 Maiya Pandey Mishra, Pre K Special Ed IA, moving to Brookfield.
