Welcome to 2nd grade! 2026-2027 school year🎉Have you gone back yet? I’m so jealous of you all that are still home. (Hi -teachers do 197 days here 😵‍💫) We’ve already been back 2 weeks😮‍💨 I’ve added some gentle color this year since many of my students looped. ❤️Wanted a slightly different look. Got new tables, added color and changed my layout. I added a fridge for kids to put work up that they’re proud of. I’ll bring my plants in once it’s too cold to be outside where they’re living their best life.

If you know Deacon-this is accurate. Meatys birthday pictures, calm and collected. Deacons- wild. Happy birthday Deacy Do. You’re what we didn’t know we needed. You still (as of yesterday-) eat my shoes, have no manners and are a complete derp. This dog makes life so fun. Happy 9th birthday goody boy. We love you❤️❤️❤️

Toss or keep? Summer purge-teacher edition- ish. I have probably 1000 DVDs in cd holders, including around 300 children DVDs like this. I know streaming is huge but the other day, I went into my streaming purchases on Amazon and a movie that I paid for was gone. I am guessing the copyright or streaming rights have changed, and that led me to not want to toss my DVDs. I made one purchase during prime days and that was a $15 Mac DVD player. My students love watching movies in The Classroom and I think I am going to bring back using my DVD player. Streaming apps are more expensive than cable was. And now we are back to commercials. I did not have the heart to get rid of any of my dvd collection. What would you have done-keep or toss?

16 years I’ve loved this child. I was meant to be his mom. Every heartbreak, every giggle , every hug and every smile has been my greatest joy. 16 years. I’m so proud of the young man you’re becoming. Happy birthday my little love.

20 years has gone so much faster than I could have ever imagined. We’ve been through every up and down together. Marriage is not easy and it’s not lost on me that we’re lucky. Lucky to have each other and lucky to have the life we have. We went from the castle (where we met) to the altar and I’d do over again in a heartbeat. Cheers to 20, love. When I catch my breath, it’s you I breathe.

After 15 years in first grade, I’m moving to 2nd grade. 🥹

It’s bittersweet moving on. Knowing I’ll continue teaching reading to little ones makes me happy. I’m sad to leave my friends and teammates in first grade but looking to round out my teaching career and get a new spark.

I’ve taught third, fourth, kinder and first in my career, and now off to second I go. Reading specialist is still my end game but I love my school and 30 second commute, so I’ll wait it out. ❤️❤️
