A few things to please be thinking of before the upcoming snow storm.
-- Prepare yourself. This is expected to be an event that will cause hazardous travel conditions for a few days. Make sure you have snacks, food, and water at home so you don’t have to go out while the streets and parking lots are being cleared.
-- Prepare your home. If you have pipes that freeze, take all the necessary precautions to mitigate them bursting. Know where the water shutoff points are in your home.
-- Make sure you have the essentials for pets and keep them warm through the cold weather.
-- If the office gets overwhelmed with calls, expect potential delays but we will get to all the messages as soon as possible.
-- Check on neighbors and loved ones or those that don’t get out to make sure they have everything they need.
-- Emergency Services will continue to operate but may face significant delays in responding especially at more rural locations. Please be mindful that emergencies calls placed to 911 should be for things such as: A seriously injured and/or sick person(s), All Fires and a serious crime is in progress or one developing.
Stay up to date with conditions from local news media outlets.

We would like to stop and take a minute to recognize members of this nations military past and present who have answered the call of a grateful nation. Members who have lived the same values that we hold so dear.

Honor
Duty
Integrity
Personal Courage
Respect
Selfless service

These values aligned so well between our paths. I shouldn't have been surprised to learn that according to the International Association of Fire Fighters more than 20 percent of firefighters and medics nationwide are military veterans.

We see you, we see your prior service, and your continued service. We thank you for leading the way and helping to spread these core values out across the nation in whatever you choose to do.

Guess who forgot to change the time on the noon whistle? yep that's right I did. This will be my first time doing this, and I think I have done it correctly.

Now to wait patiently for 12:00 and see if it works. If this goes well, there will be two lunch breaks today, and maybe I will get the nerve to tackle the clock in my car next.

I'd like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding! ;)

Where has the time gone? Daylight Saving Time comes to an end this weekend. It's a great bi-annual reminder to test, inspect and replace any broken or expired smoke/CO alarms in your home. O yeah, don't forget to turn your clocks back an hour as well.
