www.southcarolinalegion.org The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans. Hundreds of local American Legion programs and activities strengthen the nation one community at a time. American Legion Baseball is one of the nation’s most successful amateur athletic programs, educating young people about the importance of sportsmanship, citizenship and fitness. The Operation Comfort Warriors program supports recovering wounded warriors and their families, providing them with "comfort items" and the kind of support that makes a hospital feel a little bit more like home. The Legion also raises millions of dollars in donations at the local, state and national levels to help veterans and their families during times of need and to provide college scholarship opportunities. The American Legion is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization with great political influence perpetuated by its grass-roots involvement in the legislation process from local districts to Capitol Hill. Legionnaires’ sense of obligation to community, state and nation drives an honest advocacy for veterans in Washington. The Legion stands behind the issues most important to the nation's veterans community, backed by resolutions passed by volunteer leadership. The American Legion’s success depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. The organization belongs to the people it serves and the communities in which it thrives.

🇺🇸 A BIG THANK-YOU TO ALPHA TREE SERVICE! 🇺🇸

Today was another great day at Chapin American Legion Post 193 as we successfully erected our new 49.5-foot communications tower!

We owe a huge thank-you to Alpha Tree Service, a local company that stepped up and donated its time, equipment, and expertise to make this happen. Without their help, getting this tower erected would have been nearly impossible.

Thanks to their generosity, our Post 193 Radio Club now has the antenna capability to provide emergency communications with the South Carolina State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), as well as the Richland, Lexington, and Newberry County EOCs.

This is a big step forward in our ability to support emergency communications during disasters and other emergencies when normal communication systems may be unavailable. It is another way our Post can be ready to help our community when needed.

We truly appreciate Alpha Tree Service for coming out and making this possible. They didn't just help us put up a tower; they helped give us the capability to better serve our community when it matters most.

If you need tree work done, we highly recommend Alpha Tree Service. They certainly have our appreciation and have shown what it means to be a business that supports its community.

The Legion runs on volunteers.
Leadership, events, kitchen, canteen, Bingo, and Be The One.
We ask all the time. You chose what to do. Do what your can. The result is support for each other and other veterans. The benefit of street there when you need support.
Whatever it is, volunteer for something - for mutual helpfulness as in our motto. Nothing is too small. The Commander puts the opportunities on his emails. Talk to those already volunteering. Do something. You will receive a great benefit helping others.

On October 9th, the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 193 held its much-anticipated drawing for three beautiful wreaths and two gift baskets in support of Palmetto Girls State!

🇺🇸 A Fantastic Evening Supporting Chapin American Legion Post 193! 🇺🇸

What a wonderful evening at the Chapin Women in Service Celebrate America Gala!

This special event was held to raise funds to help retire the mortgage debt on our new American Legion Post 193 home.

Our Post 193 members who attended had a fantastic time, as did everyone who came out to enjoy an evening of fellowship, entertainment, and community spirit, all while supporting a great cause.

A heartfelt thank-you to the incredible ladies of Chapin Women in Service for the tremendous amount of time, effort, and dedication that went into planning and hosting such an outstanding event.

Your continued generosity and commitment to our veterans and our Post are truly appreciated. Events like this demonstrate what makes the Chapin community so special.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and contributed to making the evening such a success!

🎱 BINGO TOMORROW NIGHT AT POST 193! 🎱

We’re looking forward to another great night of Bingo! Before you head our way, please keep these important reminders in mind:

🚗 PARKING: We have approximately 100 parking spaces, so carpooling is strongly encouraged. Our Bingo staff and volunteers will park on the grass to leave as many paved spaces as possible available for our players.

Please do not park on the grass unless you are specifically directed there by a parking attendant.

🪑 SEATING: There is no saving seats. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

🍔 FOOD: No outside food is permitted. Food and concessions will be available for purchase during Bingo.

Please help us keep everything running smoothly by following the directions of our volunteers and parking attendants.
