Found Property:

If you (mom) and your two young children were on the Square yesterday morning around 11:15 a.m., your daughter accidentally left behind her purse. It was turned in to our station, and we would love to reunite her with it.

We reviewed video footage and were only able to identify that it was a mother with two children and where they were sitting.

Please stop by the station at 111 Water Street to claim it.

A new solicitor's permit for the City of Chardon was issued to a Sebastian Wilson who is soliciting for IGS Energy. Mr. Wilson should have a city issued permit on his person anytime he is out soliciting. He was provided with our most current Do Not Knock List as well.

☀️ Summer is almost here — and that means more traffic, more travel, and more time spent on the road. Whether you’re heading out on vacation, driving to summer events, or just enjoying the warmer weather, make safety part of every trip.

🚗 Buckle up every trip, every time
📵 Put distractions away and stay focused on the road
🍺 Never drive impaired — buzzed driving is drunk driving
🌧 Slow down during summer storms and wet road conditions
🌊 Remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown when roads are flooded
👀 Watch for road construction, pedestrians, bicyclists, and increased traffic
🧰 Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle and make sure your vehicle is road-trip ready
👶 Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle — temperatures rise quickly!
💼 Pack your patience for potential travel delays!

As Memorial Day weekend begins and summer travel picks up, we encourage everyone to make safety a priority both on the road and at home. Whether you’re heading to graduation parties 👩‍🎓🎓, cookouts 🌭🍔 , or family vacations 🚗✈️🏖️, a little planning can go a long way in keeping your holiday weekend safe and enjoyable.

Before you travel:
• Make sure your vehicle is road-ready with fuel, tire pressure, and emergency supplies
• Designate a sober driver or arrange a safe ride home
• Keep phones down and stay focused behind the wheel
• Be patient — heavier traffic and delays are expected this weekend

If you’re leaving town, remember to protect your home as well:
• Avoid posting vacation plans or live travel updates publicly on social media
• Have someone collect your mail/packages or place deliveries on hold
• Lock all doors and windows and use outdoor lighting or timers if possible

As we enjoy the holiday weekend, we also pause to honor and remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
