Hello!

What a nice evening we had last Thursday at Sunnybrook Preserve! Thank you to those who came out ~ it was lovely to see everyone in person! We had perfect weather in a beautiful setting; Geauga County has amazing parks!

Our meeting started with our very own member Andrea Po***ck giving a great rundown on the many ways last quarter's winner, Chagrin Falls Park Community Center, supports local families as community care in action! Our donation dollars are greatly utilized and appreciated!

We only had one charity presented for this quarter's donation, presented by Judy Bidgood. So, the winner is:
Chardon United Methodist Church (or CUMC), "Night to Shine". What an amazing group!! Check out their page to get a glimpse of what they're all about!

For those who haven't already paid, please send your check or money order, made payable to CUMC (with "Night to Shine" written on the memo line) ASAP to:

There was some discussion of possible locations for in-person meetings going forward. If members would like to "reply all" to this email with any input, we can talk about possibilities, preferably zero-cost options.

Now That's What I'm Talking About - Summer Lunch

INFORMATION ON VOLUNTEERING:

Volunteers are ALWAYS welcome!
Do you like to visit with others?
Don't mind cooking, chopping or doing dishes?
Then helping with our community dinners or summer lunch program will be a wonderful fit for you!

Please join us on the third Tuesday of each month in preparing and serving our community dinners! We arrive about 3 p.m. and are usually finished about 6:30 p.m. We would enjoy it, if you could join us for as little or as long as you can on these nights.
We are looking forward to working with you!
Community Dinners
Summer Lunch Preparation
Students and adults are welcome to join us at Claridon Congregational Church (13942 Mayfield Road, next to the Town Hall) on Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday mornings. We arrive at 9 a.m. and are usually finished around noon. There is no need to schedule a day to volunteer, just drop in and join us whenever the schedule works for you. Stay for the whole morning, or just part of it.

Have a student that doesn't want to wake up that early in the summer? Volunteers are also needed for the clean up process of washing the dish

From Now That's What I'm Talking About - Summer Lunch:

I made a School is Almost Out wish list at Walmart. I am not sure how you would go about finding a registry because I couldn't, but no worries I have the link for you right here! These are the items we will be using in 23 days. If you wish to purchase an item on our list, they do not have to be brand or size specific except for the snack bags and the large brown paper bags. And they can be from any store. If you are a Walmart+ member and would like to just order and have delivered right to Claridon Congregational Church that would be awesome. But I am not sure if my address is going to come up or the address of the church? So... the church address is 13942 Mayfield Rd., Huntsburg 44046

Hello All!

We had a beautiful meeting this evening - thank you to everyone who was able to attend! We were especially excited to welcome some of our newest members: Judy Bidgood, Becky Duncan, & Katrinka Morgan!

The charities presented for vote were:
1. Claridon Community Helps presented by Connie Becker;
2. Chagrin Falls Park Community Center presented by Andrea Po***ck.

The winner was CHAGRIN FALLS PARK COMMUNITY CENTER! Andrea shared that the current intended focus of the donation will be to help with summer camps for K-8th graders in Geauga County, the Excel and Explore program! This camp is available at no cost to the attendees so our donation will be quite impactful!

Please make checks/money orders payable to CFPCC, and send ASAP to:

The next meeting will be August 20th. We have some members working on finding a location to resume in-person meetings, so if anyone has ideas for no-cost options, please share with the group. We have lost several members due to the Zoom only meeting platform.

Thank you all for being the good we want to see in the world!
