NNSA’s Nuclear Emergency Support Team (NEST) will conduct low-altitude helicopter flights over the Perry Nuclear Power Plant and its surrounding areas, Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30.

The public may see a Leonardo AW-139 helicopter, which is equipped with radiation sensing technology. The helicopter will fly at relatively low levels.

These surveys are a normal part of security and emergency preparedness activities.

Some hours may vary due to the holiday weekend (Geauga County Public Libraries will be closed Saturday, July 4th). When in doubt, verify before you go.

Geauga County Library Facilities will be open and available for citizens to go to, to help beat the heat and cool down if necessary during their normal operating hours. Contact the Geauga County Emergency Management Agency if you have any non-emergency special needs and Dial 9-1-1 for any EMERGENCY.

As temperatures soar this week, visit your local Geauga County Public Library branch for a safe space to beat the heat. Find a new book or movie, use a computer, attend a program, or simply cool off with a drink of water.
