When 12-year-old Mason entered foster care, he carried everything he owned in a black trash bag.
A few changes of clothes. A football. A worn photo of his younger sister.
Over the next several months, Mason met dozens of adults. Caseworkers, attorneys, counselors, teachers.
But one person kept showing up.
His CASA Advocate.
She checked in on him at school. She listened when he talked about missing his sister. She made sure the judge knew what mattered most to him.
One day, Mason asked, "Are you coming back next week?"
When she said yes, he smiled and replied, "Good. Most people don't."
Children in foster care need consistency. They need someone who stays.

Nine-year-old Ethan had one line in his school play.

One line.

For weeks, he practiced it over and over.

The night of the performance, he kept looking into the crowd.

Waiting.

Hoping.

Looking for a familiar face.

When he spotted his CASA Advocate sitting in the audience, his entire face lit up.

After the show, he ran over and said, "You really came."
