The Geauga County Sheriff's Office has been made aware of a scam occurring currently in which residents are being called by someone identifying themselves as a Geauga County Deputy and requesting payment to clear a warrant due to missed jury duty.


Please remember:
❌ The Geauga County Sheriff’s Office will NEVER call you demanding payment for warrants.
❌ We will NEVER request payment through gift cards, cryptocurrency, Venmo, Cash App, or over the phone.
❌ Scammers often use fake names, badge numbers, and spoofed phone numbers to appear legitimate.
If you receive one of these calls:
📞 Hang up immediately.
📞 Do not provide personal or banking information.
📞 Contact the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office directly to verify any claims.

All FiRST Team members receive specialized training in:

• Privileged communication & confidentiality
• Trauma-informed peer support

The Behavioral Health and First Responders Job Fair is for anyone interested in careers that focus on helping people and serving the community — whether that’s in law enforcement, fire/EMS, hospitals, crisis services, peer support, case management, or behavioral health.

There will be opportunities to meet employers, ask questions, learn about training and certifications, and make connections with professionals already working in these fields. We’ll also have resume help, professional headshots, and emergency vehicle displays during the event.
