On Thursday September 10, the eastbound lane of Water St. (US6) will be closed from 9 AM to 5 PM just west of the Wilson Mills Rd. / Cherry Ave. intersection. 2-way traffic will be maintained but there may be some delays. Please use caution when driving in this area.

Beginning this month, CMG Contracting will be replacing portions of sidewalks on the following streets: Water Street, Center Street, Meadowlands Drive and Fifth Avenue.

This is part of the City's annual Sidewalk Replacement Program to replace sidewalks. Residents on the listed streets will notice red 'X's that indicate that sidewalk will be replaced. Work is anticipated to be complete by Halloween.

Additionally, various handicap ramps will be replaced along state routes.

The City of Chardon is currently accepting applications for a Resident Board Commissioner to serve on the Geauga Metropolitan Housing Authority (GMHA) Board of Commissioners.

This position is appointed by the City Manager and must be filled by a resident currently participating in a GMHA housing program. The selected individual must be able to regularly attend monthly Board meetings, which are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. at Murray Manor, located at 385 Center Street, Chardon, Ohio.

This appointment is for the remainder of the unexpired five-year term ending 4/4/2032.

Applicants may also obtain and submit a paper application at the GMHA Central Office, located at 385 Center Street, Chardon. Applications submitted to GMHA will be date- and time-stamped and forwarded to the City of Chardon for consideration.

🚫The parking lots at the Municipal Building, 106 Water Street and the Alley will be re-striped during the early morning hours of Saturday, August 15. No overnight parking from Friday night into Saturday morning will be permitted.

🚧On Friday, August 14, the Chardon Water Department will be working on the water main on South Street beginning at 4am. There will be one (1) lane closed therefore motorists should expect delays. Effected business owners have been notified. Work is anticipated to be completed the same day.
