At Geauga County Veterans Services, we believe in looking out for one another. Check your battle buddy. Make the call. Send the text. Stop by. Sometimes simply asking, “Are you okay?” can make a difference.

Ohio is proud to support the Strive for 500 campaign again this year: a nationwide initiative from the Military Women’s Memorial aiming for every state to register at least 500 military women in 2026. This effort helps preserve the stories, service, and impact of women who have served in or alongside the U.S. Armed Forces, including more than 17,000 women veterans right here in Ohio.

By registering, participants contribute to the Memorial’s National Digital Repository, ensuring their experiences are documented, honored, and accessible for future generations. Registration is free, open to all women veterans, and only takes a few minutes.

The Geauga County Sheriff’s Office has recently received reports from several businesses throughout the county that have fallen victim to large-scale financial fraud.

In these incidents, businesses receive an email containing a link that appears to come from their financial institution. The email instructs the recipient to log into their online banking account. Once login credentials are entered, scammers gain access to the account and are able to transfer funds into accounts under their control.

To protect yourself and your business, never click on links in unsolicited emails requesting that you verify account information, update passwords, or log into your bank account. If you receive an email that appears to be from your bank, do not use the link provided. Instead, contact your bank directly using a trusted phone number or visit its official website by typing the address into your web browser.

Taking a few extra moments to verify the request can help prevent significant financial loss.

🇺🇸 Geauga County Veterans in Public Service 🇺🇸

Geauga County Veterans Services, in partnership with the Geauga County Board of Commissioners, is proud to announce the Geauga County Veterans in Public Service Recognition Program.

This initiative honors county employees who have served, or continue to serve, in the United States Armed Forces while continuing their commitment to our community through public service.

Veterans who would like to participate are asked to submit:

* Completed Release Form
* Copy of DD Form 214 (or other proof of military service)
* Military or current civilian photograph (military photo preferred if available)

Throughout the month of November, commemorative posters will be displayed in designated locations throughout county departments to recognize and celebrate the service and sacrifice of our veteran employees.

If you are a Geauga County employee and a veteran, we encourage you to participate!
