Around noon today Rescue-33 and Car-1 responded into North Charleroi to assist 22 on a MVA with one trapped. Rescue-33 crew stabilized the vehicle and removed the driver door for patient access. Rostraver EMS had patient care. Great work to all crews.

This evening for training members reviewed vehicle rescue operations. Crews practiced stabilizing a vehicle on its roof and tunneling in from the rear of the vehicle as if we had no access to the sides of it.

Rescue-33 and Car-1 responded to I-70 West at the Speers exit for a 2 vehicle accident with one rolled over. I-70 is now reopened.

Overnight Squad-33 responded to the City of Monongahela to assist on a residential structure fire. 33 provided a back-up RIT team and assist with overhauling and opening up the structure. Units operating 62,14,46,63,154,11,47,33

This morning Charleroi School is back in session. Please use caution and watch for kids going and coming from the bus stops. And remember to stop for all school buses when they have the red lights on. Good luck to all students.

ANIMAL RESCUE

At approximately 8 o’clock, Rescue 33 was dispatched for a kitten stuck in a storm drain. The on-duty crew responded immediately and found a small kitten trapped 5-6 feet down a storm drain. 33 used our sewer camera to locate the kitten and made a small homemade snare to grab the kitten and pull it to safety. Crews then cleaned the kitten and found a crate to put the kitten in.

We then passed the kitten off to a rescue.

On-duty crews responded to 3 incidents these evening, showing the benefit of having a staffed house.
