Bubba Sorensen is a fantastic legislator and a rock-solid individual. The idea that he's manipulated by PACs is laughable. Rep. Sorensen is one the legislators who always reads the bills and always makes up his own mind on what he thinks is best for Iowa.

My opponent has every right to criticize my record, disagree with my votes and tell voters she would represent House District 23 differently.

I filed the strongest anti-Flock bill in the Iowa Legislature this year. It banned the cameras outright - no state agency, no city, no county, no law enforcement, and no hiring a private company to do it for you. Cameras down. Data destroyed in 30 days. Personal liability for officials who broke the law.

It never got a subcommittee hearing. It died at the funnel.

I am filing it again - and this time I want to walk into that committee room with a list of names behind me.

Government has no business creating a searchable record of where law-abiding Iowans drive. If police have a legitimate reason to track somebody, we already have a constitutional procedure for that. Get a warrant.
