Join Rob, Caleb, Jamie and the crew for fun, FREE, hands-on riversurfing and boogie board clinics on the Cedar River as part of the Charles City Challenge Whitewater Weekend! Learn the basics, build your confidence, and experience the thrill of catching waves right here in Charles City.

📅 Riversurfing Clinic Schedule:
Friday, June 12
• Youth Riversurf Session (Ages 10+): 12:00–2:00 PM
• Adult Riversurf Session: 4:00–6:00 PM

Saturday, June 13
• Beginner Riversurf Session (Ages 10+): 12:00–1:00 PM

Participants will learn the basics of river safety, equipment, surfing techniques, and how to navigate river features. All necessary equipment - including boards, helmets, and PFDs - is provided. No experience is required, but participants must be able to swim, and must wear closed-toe shoes.

⭐ Special Opportunity for Local Youth ⭐
Charles City youth who participate in a riversurf clinic are invited to compete in the Beginner Surf Competition on Saturday afternoon during the Charles City Challenge.

At the recent 7th/8th Boys Track and Field Competition in Lake Mills, there were two school records broken!

JaMayte Cooper - 100 Meter Hurdles (7th Grade)
***new record 16.50 - previous record 16.83

Shuttle Hurdle Relay team (8th Grade)
***new record 1:07.12 ‐ previous record 1:07.92

The 8th Graders best Shuttle Hurdle Relay time last year was 1:17.00 with 3/4 members running on this year's record-breaking team. They have worked tirelessly to improve and have been extremely coachable in order to improve by nearly 10 seconds in one year!

Math Bee Magic! This week, 8 CCMS students traveled to compete in the Annual NE Iowa 6th Grade Math Bee. The event hosted 24 teams from 13 different schools, for a total of 94 students participating. Competitors each take 5 individual math tests, and teams take one collaborative test; awards are given for the top 10 individual acores and the top 3 team scores. THREE of our eight CCMS students placed in the top-10 individual scores for the day, and one of our teams placed 2nd overall! Special congratulations to our award winners:

*Our 2nd place team was only two points behind the 1st place team, and a whopping 26 points ahead of the 3rd place team!
