Students in the first quarter of 8th Grade Careers class got to hear from Emily Garden, Public Relations and Employee Engagement Supervisor at Soifer Family McDonald’s. Emily shared some of the background of the franchise as well as her duties. Students heard what McDonald’s is looking for in potential employees, how to complete a good application, and tips for the actual interview. 📣 Calling all community members and professionals!

Do you have a career, skill, or experience you’d love to share with 8th grade students? I'm looking for guest speakers to help our students explore different career paths and see how their interests can connect to the real world!

Mrs. Rahmiller's Careers class will have 4 different sections throughout the school year—one each quarter, so you can choose to speak once or come back multiple times! Speakers can join us in person or virtually via Zoom, and class meets daily from 8:00–8:45 a.m.

In partnership with Vision To Learn Iowa, free eye exams for K–12 students are coming to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank on June 9, July 1, and July 2!

No insurance is needed, and all students are welcome! Appointments are available from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a signed consent form required.
