My husband, Jeff Kerns, passed away June 23rd, 2022, from a heart attack. Since his unexpected death it has become my mission to make sure everyone gets their hearts and their cardiovascular systems checked. Self care is the first step. You can’t love on others if you are not present. Today I had a CST, Calcium Scoring Test. This simple test, that only took 5 minutes, will let me know how well my blood is flowing. If there is any hard calcium slowing things down, and help my doctors with my health care decisions. Being a Diabetic already puts me a greater risk for high blood pressure and cholesterol.

Please, make the call to your doctor. Get your check ups. Put your health first so you can be there to watch your children grow, graduate, get married, and start families of their own. My husband will miss out on all of this. Please do not wait. It is my prayer that you love your families enough to love yourself first!

I want to thank all who have been there for me and my boys during our most difficult of times. Your kindness and generosity have shown us the hands and feet of Jesus are alive and well. If I have not thanked you for your support during my campaign please grant me grace. I want to make sure that I thank each and everyone of you who financially supported my campaign as well as showed their support by putting a sign in their yard. Your support means the world to me and thank you notes are coming. God had a plan and he meant for me to concentrate on my family, but I will be back!

Campaigns are about allowing voters to choose who will represent them. Tonight, the voters of Berkeley County have spoken and we ended up on the short end by 600 votes. I'm proud of my campaign! We ran a positive campaign and I have no regrets. I can't help but think of the people I've met. Whether from Pinopolis, Cane Bay, Hanahan to Shulerville, I now have a bunch of new friends. We all share the same spirit and pride of Berkeley County. Briefly, I want to thank my family; Jeff and the boys for your support and love. Josh Whitley and his mother Dr. Karen Whitley, thank you for taking me under your wings and sharing your campaign experiences with me. Sheriff Lewis, thank you for standing by my side and taking my calls throughout the night. I can not thank you enough. This campaign would not have been possible to the folks who financially contributed to my campaign, who walked with me as we went door-to-door. Words cannot express my gratitude. This campaign might be over, but my volunteer service to my community and all the citizens of Berkeley County will continue! And I will be back in four years. God Bless you all and thank you very much!

To all of my amazing supporters, today my sign team went around the county to relocate signs to the precincts where you will all be voting. We did this for several reasons. One, our team wanted to be good stewards of our campaign donations. Two, we wanted to make sure that we didn’t litter the county with signs that would eventually end up in our trash and landfills. And three, we made the pledge that we would come back and pick up the signs so that you didn’t have to discard them. We wanted to fulfill that promise. If your sign was one that was repurposed and you would like to keep one we will happily bring one by on Wednesday. Thank you for all your understanding and support throughout this campaign. Your support means the world to me! I couldn’t do it with out each of you. Get out tomorrow and vote Lisa Kerns for Clerk of Court. Tell 10 to tell 10, that’s how we win. Gods got this!
