What an incredible evening celebrating National Night Out! 🎉

A heartfelt thank you to all of our first responders, Charleston, WV Police Department, firefighters, EMS personnel, and everyone who helped make this annual event such a success. Your dedication, service, and commitment to keeping our communities safe are truly appreciated.

We also want to thank all of the residents, families, volunteers, and community partners who joined us for a night of fun, fellowship, and community spirit.

This year's National Night Out celebrations were held at Carroll Terrace, South Park Village, Washington Manor, and Orchard Manor. We loved seeing so many smiling faces and neighbors coming together to strengthen the relationships that make our communities so special.

Thank you to everyone who participated—we're already looking forward to next year!

Last week, Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority CEO Mark E. Taylor joined leaders from across the state at the West Virginia State Capitol for the HUD Work & Dignity Coalition meeting.

The gathering brought together representatives from 14 Public Housing Authorities across West Virginia under a shared vision of expanding opportunities, promoting self-sufficiency, and strengthening the communities we serve.

According to HUD Field Office leadership, this united effort made a lasting impression on Joe DeFelice, Assistant Deputy Secretary for Field Policy and Management, who recognized West Virginia's collaboration as an incredible milestone. Our state's commitment was also shared with Ben Hobbs, Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing at HUD, who was excited to learn about the progress being made and the strong partnership demonstrated during the July 28 signing event.

We are honored to be part of this statewide initiative and look forward to continuing to work alongside our partners to create more pathways to work, dignity, and opportunity for West Virginia families.
