Today, the crew of USS Charleston (LCS 18), homeported in San Diego, CA visited MLEA during a namesake recognition visit to Charleston. They gained a firsthand look at MLEA’s daily operations - to include underway evolutions with our Non-Compliant Vessel Pursuit School. Their recent deployment included an embarked Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment (LEDET), further highlighting the strength of our joint mission. We remain grateful for our Navy partnership and look forward to continued collaboration in advancing maritime security.

This week, NRFTC graduated the last Northeast LMR BO class of 2024. 12 new graduates were trained on how to inspect the fishing gear, identify 40+ federally regulated species, and verify the compliance with the safety gear requirements. Good luck in the field, shipmates.
