What an incredible surprise from the DAE Foundation! 💙

We are so grateful for their kindness and continued support of our community. The DAE Foundation is a valued partner, and we always enjoy working together throughout the year to help educate, engage, and support Charleston County residents.

Partnerships like these make a real difference, and we are thankful for organizations that share our commitment to serving others. Thank you to the DAE Foundation for this thoughtful surprise and for all you do to strengthen our community!

Partnerships like this help us make a lasting impact all year long.

A huge thank you to Charleston County Government Public Safety for their continued partnership with the DAE Foundation. Through programs like Safety DAE each March and our upcoming Back to School DAE event on August 8, 2026, we work together to create opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and thrive both on and off the court.

We were honored to present Team DAE jerseys to Synovia Green, Eric Watson, and Peggyrose Dowd-Fedorka as a small token of our appreciation for their commitment to the youth and families of Charleston County.

Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us build stronger, safer communities through education, mentorship, and basketball.

Earlier today at the Kiawah/Seabrook Island Disaster Awareness Day, members of Charleston County Public Safety were proud to be part of this great community event focused on hurricane and disaster preparedness.

Members from Charleston County Emergency Management, Charleston County EMS, and the Charleston County Consolidated Emergency Communications Center spent the day talking with residents and sharing tips, resources, and information to help everyone stay safe and prepared this hurricane season.

Chief Way from Charleston County EMS also gave a presentation during the event about the importance of being prepared before emergencies happen and what you should do when they happen.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, ask questions, and learn more about how to prepare for severe weather and other emergencies. 🌪️💙

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer, it is a time to reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives in service to our nation.

As we gather with family and friends this holiday weekend, we encourage everyone to stay safe, look out for one another, and take a moment to remember the heroes who made our freedoms possible.

From all of us in Public Safety, thank you to our fallen service members and their families. We will never forget. ❤️🤍💙

With these dangerously high temperatures, it’s important to look out for each other! Extreme heat can be just as dangerous as severe storms – especially for those most at risk.

Check in on:
✅ Older adults who may not have air conditioning
✅ Young children who can overheat quickly
✅ Pets – make sure they have shade and plenty of water
✅ Anyone working outdoors or living without AC

A quick phone call, text, or knock on the door can go a long way – it might even save a life. Let’s keep Charleston safe by taking care of our neighbors, friends, and family.

🚑💙 Happy National EMS Week! 💙🚑

This year’s theme, “Improving Outcomes, Together,” reflects the teamwork, dedication, and compassion that define EMS every single day here in Charleston County.

From the moment a call comes in to the care provided on scene, during transport, and beyond, our EMS professionals work together with dispatchers, firefighters, nurses, doctors, law enforcement, and the community to make a difference when it matters most.

Charleston County EMS continues to show what it means to serve with skill, heart, and professionalism. Whether responding to emergencies or offering reassurance in difficult moments, they are there when people need them most.

This week, we proudly recognize our EMTs, paramedics, supervisors, and support staff for their commitment to helping others and improving lives every day.

Thank you for all you do for Charleston County. We appreciate you this week and always. 💙🚑
