To say the boys got after it this week would be an understatement! The crew transited all the way to Myrtle Beach to take care of aids to navigation in the most northern reaches of the ANVIL’s area of responsibility.

ANVIL took care of 2 major aids, marking dangerous rocks in a high traffic boating channel as well as resetting a discrepant large buoy. Traversing 250 miles overall!

With this time underway, the crew was getting qualified. Congratulations to:
MK2 Meeks for becoming CDS qualified!
DC2 Schell for becoming EOW qualified!
BM3 Hull for becoming Rigger qualified!

DC1 Kerry mcgeein, this trip they worked their final aids leaving not only their hardhats behind, but their legacy as well. We’re sad to see them go but excited to see them peruse their purpose! Strong work ANVIL crew! Bravo Zulu!

We had a Great week underway. Some great things from the crew this week. We were able to construct a front range structure in approx 13 hours start to finish (with the help of ANT Tybee and our very own Sector Charleston ATON officer of corse!). We knocked out a few other discrepancy corrections as well. We assisted loading the ANT Charleston BUSL so they could replinish supplies and continue great work in their southern portion of their AOR. We successfully removed the wreckage and hazard to navigation of a range that was knocked down. Quite a few complex evolutions and the crew answered the challenge! MK3 Decker sucessfully qualified Engineer of the Watch!
This was BM1 Johnson’s last trip underway, we say good bye to him as he prepares to transfer to become Officer In Charge of CG ANT Crisfield.
