St. Andrews Public Service District

St. Andrews Public Service District SAPSD is a Special Purpose District in West Ashley, SC. The SAPSD was created by Act 443 of the South Carolina General Assembly effective July 1, 1949.

It serves the residential and community needs of fire protection, emergency response, environmental services, and street lighting with devotion, determination, and dependability. It is a Special Purpose District located in Charleston County, South Carolina and was created to provide fire protection, refuse removal, wastewater services, street lights, and street signs to the area known as West of t

he Ashley. Currently, the SAPSD provides fire protection and rescue, environmental services, and street lighting to approximately 22,000 people in its service area. The SAPSD operates administration offices, environmental services, maintenance facilities, and four (4) fire stations.

Mon/Tues/Wed garbage pick up will run one day behind regular schedule.
Thursday garbage pickup will be on REGULAR schedule.

We have noticed an uptick in "backwards" trash cans. Cans placed incorrectly on the curb causes broken handles, broken wheels and disappearing cans when emptied. Please be sure to have your can turned the correct way so our drivers can empty your can on your pick up day. We hate to leave you with a stinkin' can in 100 degree heat for an extra week! Thanks!
