Capital JROTC We are the Capital High School "Cougar Battalion" located in Charleston, West Virginia. Our Army Instructor is First Sergeant Robert Riley.

The Mission of the U.S. Army JROTC is "To Motivate young people to become better citizens."

JCLC (JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge). It is an intensive, week-long summer training program that takes place at Camp Dawson, West Virginia. Cadets are selected to attend this immersive camp to build teamwork, confidence, and self-discipline.

We selected 14 of our Cadets this year to go and represent our program. During this camp these young cadets go from early in the morning to late at night. Events like the obstacle course, rope bridge, zodiac boat training, water survival training, rappelling, rockwall climbing, land navigating, and even getting to fly in a Blackhawk helicopter! Those are just some of the things these cadets do during this weeklong camp. To say it was long days would be an understatement. However, these cadets along with over 220 other cadets all put their best foot forward and finished the camp with flying colors. We will be posting pictures the next couple days. Have a great summer, cougar nation!
