Great day today at West Virginia Pumpkin Festival and Ona Speedway.

I thank everyone that came out to both events. And stop back by Pumpkin Park tomorrow at 4PM for the drawing for prizes - two grills and two concrete geese.

Also, thank you to the organizers, vendors, supporters, and volunteers at both events. We've got some great people in our community.

Tomorrow night, it's back! The sound of engines roaring, door-to-door action, that feeling in your chest when the green flag waves.

It's not just any night, it's the start of the season, the race that every driver has spent the entire winter thinking about winning.

Temperatures will be cool but the action on track will be hot! We will be running the program through quick and efficiently as we usually do. With looking at the hourly forecast, we don't expect temps to drop below 50 degrees during race time.

Thanks to Michael for letting us know, and Hannah for reporting on this.

Michael came out this morning ready to work on getting the boat ramp usable. Yes - a private citizen willing to work on a public facility - somebody else's responsibility. A great guy.

Right on the border of Cabell and Mason County. I'm very thankful to our people at DNR and Dept of Commerce for listening to us and not just opening up the ramp, but for cleaning it up.

The West Virginia DNR reopened the boat ramp on Wednesday after our story aired on Tuesday.
