USCGC ANVIL The official page for the Coast Guard Cutter ANVIL, home ported in Charleston, SC.

Coast Guard Cutter ANVIL is a 75 foot Inland Construction Tender (WLIC) responsible for maintaing fixed Aids to Navigation over 308 miles of the ICW, including numerous rivers and sounds, from the NC/SC border down to Sapelo Sound, GA. Commissioned in 1962, ANVIL has previously been home ported in Corpus Christi, TX as well as Miami, FL. Over her time in service she has sailed from Sallisaw, OK to Baltimore, MD.

Last week our shipmate, MK2 Scudder, departed the ANVIL for the last time. MK2 will be joining the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter SEA DOG. The SEA DOG is an 87' Patrol Boat assigned to Coast Guard Marine Force Protection Unit Kings Bay, which provides dedicated security to the Navy’s submarine fleet as they transit in and out of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. Wish him good luck on his new journey!
