NGB-SASPP Employee of the Quarter

The NGB-SASPP leadership would like to recognize the following employee of the quarter for his outstanding achievements and contributions.

From the East Region: Samuel Reeder joined the WV Risk Reduction Team in September 2023 as a Prevention Coordinator, making significant impacts providing exemplary prevention and risk reduction services. Frequently recognized by state leadership for his professionalism, he recently represented the WVARNG at a DTC training event in May 2026, sharing best practices for program collaboration. Sam consistently sets the standard for dependability and thoroughness in everything he does, maintaining a meticulous attention to detail that guarantees no task is left incomplete and keeping operations running seamlessly. His exceptional work ethic and reliability make him unmatched as a young professional. Both his team and his clients firmly consider him an invaluable asset to the R3SP program and the WVARNG, noting that his outstanding dedication and hard work never go unnoticed. Freedom 250 and DoW are looking for a male and female competitor from each State, Territory and the District to compete in the PATRIOT GAMES. The games will be in early August, and broadcast on ESPN on August 13th. Young adults ages 14-17 have the chance to compete with a chance to win half of a $250,000 scholarship prize. (I’ve included many of the known FAQs below.)

What do I need to know?
● The 2026 Patriot Games is a national competition celebrating exceptional student athletes ages 14-17.
● Applications are now open at Freedom250.org
● We are asking organizations, schools, coaches, and community leaders to help identify and encourage outstanding students to apply.

Why Should Students Apply?
● Students will have the opportunity to compete alongside outstanding young Americans from across the country.
● Participants will compete for $250,000 in scholarships.
● The competition will be featured nationally through coverage on the ESPN App and ESPN on ABC.
● Students will have the opportunity to showcase their talent, character, determination, and leadership on a national stage.
● Participants will become part of a signature event celebrating America's 250th birthday.

What Makes the 2026 Patriot Games Different?
● The program celebrates leadership, perseverance, teamwork, character, and achievement.
● We are looking for students with compelling stories, strong character, and a commitment to athletic excellence.

What Will The Competition Include?
● The competition will include rounds that test excellence in skillsets of beloved American sports, including elements from football, basketball, soccer, track, and more.
● Competitions will feature both team and individual competitions.
● Competitors will be tested on the skills from the Presidential Fitness Test, go through a military-inspired boot camp circuit, and finalists will compete in an obstacle course designed to test strategy and skill.

Who is Eligible?
● Open to students ages 14-17.
● Students from across the United States, territories, and tribal nations are eligible to apply.
● Applications include a short video submission and basic eligibility information.

● Students can submit a short video sharing their story, accomplishments, and why they want to participate in the 2026 Patriot Games.
