Our agency has contact with many children each year who have experienced some risky things while using the internet. Whether its through gaming, phones, computers, or something else, many kids are out on the internet everyday.

Just like we want kids to look both ways before they cross a street, we know safety on the internet is important, too!

It may be September, but it’s hot outside! Be sure to drink plenty of water, limit time in the sun and check on elderly neighbors or pets. If you or someone you know needs a safe, air-conditioned place to cool off, head to a local cooling center. Visit https://keepcool.illinois.gov/ or call 211 to find a site near you.

Back to School season is a great time to check in on safety for kids in your life. One way to accomplish this is the concept of a "safety net" of trusted adults for kids. Read more about this in this brochure from the Zero Abuse Project 💙

🎉 25 years. 25 donors. $25 a month. That's the goal!!

This year marks 25 years of the Children's Advocacy Center of East Central Illinois standing beside children and families in our community during their hardest moments.

25 years of interviews conducted with care, advocacy for families, and specialized support to families who didn't have to face abuse investigations alone.

To celebrate, we're looking for 25 people to join us as monthly $25 donors — that's less than $1 a day to help make sure the next 25 years are possible, too!

Will you be one of our 25? 💙

Myth: Kids will tell someone if they’re being abused.

Fact: Many children don’t disclose abuse because they fear not being believed or being separated from family.

You can do everything "right" as a caregiver or trusted adult and a child still may not disclose abuse.
