That's what reunification looks like from a foster parent's perspective. Two brothers, over a year together and a mom and dad who worked hard, completed their program and got their kids back.

Proof that important work and cupcakes can absolutely coexist. 🧁

We recently had an open house at our Transitional Living Home for young women in foster care and invited folks to come and chat with the team, take a tour of the home and learn about the opportunities this space helps make possible.

Meaningful conversations, lots of smiling faces and yes... very cute desserts.

One myth we hear a lot is that kids in foster care have behavioral issues or may be too difficult to connect with. The reality is that most of them are just kids...kids who've been through something hard and are trying to figure out how to trust again.

Acting out, shutting down or keeping people at arm's length is not a character flaw. It's often just a response to uncertainty. When young people find a home where the adults are consistent and patient, something usually shifts. Connection takes time, and it's almost always worth it.
